ANDREA JO DEWERD is a writer and book marketer in Brooklyn, NY. Andrea received her M.S. in Publishing from New York University and B.A. in English from the George Washington University. A born and bred Minnesotan, Andrea now lives and writes in Brooklyn, NY. What We Sacrifice for Magic is Andrea’s debut novel, and she is hard at work on a contemporary Christmas rom-com, tentatively titled Christmas Cookie Miracle.

Andrea is a book marketing strategist, consultant, and speaker, and the founder of the future of agency LLC, a book marketing and publishing consulting agency, launched in 2022. Prior to starting the future of agency, Andrea spent 13 years in Big 5 publishing, most recently at Harvest, an imprint of HarperCollins. Her publishing experience ranges from commercial and literary fiction, memoir and narrative non-fiction, to business books, cookbooks, and bestselling lifestyle brands. Andrea previously held positions at Crown, Random House, One World, Spiegel & Grau, and Simon & Schuster. Andrea was honored by Publishers Weekly as a 2019 Star Watch finalist.
In her various roles, Andrea has led the marketing and advertising campaigns for 105+ career New York Times bestsellers, including books by Elizabeth Berg, Amy Bloom, Mary Higgins Clark, Emma Cline, Ta-Nehisi Coates, Charles Duhigg, Fannie Flagg, Pope Francis, Trevor Noah, Anna Quindlen, Ruth Reichl, Elizabeth Strout, Peter Strzok, Matthew Thomas, Lauren Weisberger, Tara Westover, and former Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch, among many others.
